Protect Your Tailgate and Taillights from Theft
Even if your tailgate is locked, it's still vulnerable. Thieves can access the latch by removing the inner panel, then drop the tailgate to steal it — along with your taillights.
The TailGuard tailgate bracket blocks access to the latch mechanism from inside the bed, helping prevent unauthorized entry and removal of your tailgate assembly.

Fitment Notes:
- Uses the top stock hole in the rear bed posts
- Fitment varies based on bed liner thickness
- Without a liner, bushings may feel slightly loose (this won’t affect function)
- Previous modifications to the post holes may impact bracket alignment
⚠️ Don’t Forget: Secure the Tailgate Cover Screws
While the TailGuard protects the latch from inside, many Ford trucks use T25 Torx screws on the tailgate cover — which are easily removed with common tools.

What is the TailGuard?
TailGuard is a tailgate security bracket designed to prevent unwanted opening of your Ford F150, F250, F350 and F450 tailgate.
Its unique design utilizes a stock hole for mounting and its clever shape allows for complete coverage of the tailgate latch opening. This yields a high security, low-profile bracket that doesnt require drilling to install.
My tailgate locks. Why do I need the TailGuard?
A locked tailgate only means the normal latch cannot be used to open it. Thieves are bypassing the normal latch by accessing the latching mechanisms through the latch opening on each end of the tailgate. It's something we've demonstrated is not hard to do.
With TailGuard installed, the latch opening is blocked preventing thieves from accessing the latch mechanism this way. If they can access the latch, they cant manually open the tailgate.
Does TailGuard fit my truck?
TailGuard is compatible with all 2017+ Ford F250, F350, and F450 Super Dutys and 2021 and newer Ford F150 trucks.

What are the brackets made of?
Each bracket is made from 1/8" thick 5052 aluminum powdercoated in a Textured Black finish to match a spray-lined bed.
